Genasi

Elementally Ascended peoples

Description:

Note: this list of racial powers differs from those found in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. This section also includes two new Genasi, the Thunder Genasi and the Ice Genasi.

Basic Notes
- All Genasi, if they choose a class that has cleric domain access, they must worship a deity with their element as a domain and pick that domain as one of their domains. Example – An Earth Genasi Cleric must worship a deity that has the Earth domain as one of it’s domains, and then the Earth Genasi Cleric must choose the Earth domain as one of his domains for his character.
- All Genasi gain +1 vs their elemental spells and effects, which increases by +1 every five levels the Genasi attains. Air = force; Thunder = lightning.
- If a Genasi attains levels in Elemental Bender, they must bend their element (or an element near their affiliation, Thunder = Fire/Air, Ice = Water), and they can bend an additional square of their element for free.

Bio:

Somewhere in history higher elemental powers came down and blessed certain families with a heritage of the elements. There are six varied types of Genasi, Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Thunder, and Ice.

Air
Air Genasi are themselves as the inheritors of the sky, the wind, and the very air of the world. They are most often neutral. They appear mostly Elven, with one or two unusual traits reflecting their quasi-elemental nature, such as a light blue color to their skin or hair, a slight breeze in their presence at all times, or flesh that is cool to the touch. They care little for their appearance and tend to have wind-tossed hair and much-mended clothes. Their emotions vary quickly between calm reserve and great intensity.

Earth
Earth Genasi are slow to act, ponderous in thought, and set in their ways. They are most often lawful. They appear mostly human with one or two unusual traits reflecting their quasi-elemental nature, such as earthlike skin, rough facial features, or eyes like black pits. They favor neutral colors and simple clothing, and while some appear to inadvertently collect dirt on their clothes, others keep a neat and polished appearance.

Fire
Fire Genasi are hot blooded and quick to anger, proud and unafraid to take action. They are most often chaotic. They appear mostly Elven with one or two unusual traits reflecting their quasi-elemental nature, such as skin the color of burnt coal, red hair that waves like flames, or eyes that glow when the Genasi is angry. They prefer to dress simply and elegantly, although their fashions can be more flamboyant than the most outrageous trend.

Water
Water Genasi are patient and slow to change, preferring to wear away opposition slowly, but are capable of great violence in extreme situations. They are most often neutral. All have one or more traits that reflect their quasi-elemental nature, such as lightly scaled skin, clammy flesh, blue-green skin or hair, or hair that waves as if underwater. They dress sparsely, preferring clothing that won’t bind when in the water and ripples like waves when dry.

Thunder
Thunder Genasi are quick witted, using a collection of worldly knowledge to pose sharp questions and quips in conversations. The appear mostly Elven with one or two unusual traits reflecting their quasi-elemental nature, such as hair that always looks frizzed, eyes that seem to crackle with energy, extremely light toned skin, or lightning bolt markings on their skin. They dress regally and as fashionable as they can whenever they can.

Frost
Frost Genasi are in life as the icebergs are to the landscape; people are moved by their presence and are rarely the same after leaving them. Frost Genasi appear mostly human with one or two unusual traits reflecting their quasi-elemental nature, such as hair that always appears frosted, a general presence of cold in their vicinity, crystal-looking eyes, or skin with a blue or white shimmer. They dress to impress more often than not and always take care of their appearance.
